This is an opportunity to join a busy service that adapts properties for disabled customers and other surveying related projects. Duties will include assisting the repairs and adaptations manager with the day to day running of the service and Home Improvement Agency.
We are looking for an experienced person with excellent communication skills, who is highly motivated and committed to delivering an efficient, customer focused high quality service.
This position will lead and motivate a small team of surveyors to deal with all aspects of a surveying service. Duties will include site visits, preparing schemes using Autocad (essential), dealing with technical queries (on and off site) liaising with contractors and suppliers, obtaining permissions, specification writing and supervising contracts.
The type of work will vary from small adaptations to new build/renovation/conversion schemes across all tenure. Previous experience of dealing with a varied workload is essential as well as procurement/tendering procedures.
The post holder should be aware of Disabled Facilities Grant Legislation (including RRO), Building Regulations and related Planning legislation and be able to demonstrate management skills such as giving presentations and data administration.
Essential: A related degree that leads to Corporate Membership of one or more of the following: - CIOB, RICS, ABE or equivalent
Knowledge and previous experience of managing a team is essential as duties will include carrying out appraisals as well as the day to day running of a team of up to six people
Applicants will be required to take a CAD test.
